Poonam Kaur is an Indian actress and model from Hyderabad, who appears in South Indian cinema.
Born and raised in Hyderabad, India, Poonam Kaur did her schooling there as well, before doing fashion designing at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Delhi. In 2006, after her studies, she signed up for a film to be directed by Teja, which didn't take off for unknown reason. However, she took an offer for another Teja film, Oka Vichitram. Even before the release of that film, Kaur was pursuing a lead role in another Telugu film, Mayajalam, which released first.
Subsequently, she appeared in several Telugu film as Nikki And Neeraj, enacting the title role of Nikki and Souryam, alongside Gopichand and Anushka Shetty. For her performance in the latter, Kaur received a nomination for the Best Suuporting Actress Award for 2008. She made her acting debut in the Tamil and Kannada film industries, with S. A. Chandrasekhar's Nenjirukkum Varai and Bandhu Balaga, respectively. In 2010, she made a comeback in Tamil with the highly anticipated Unnaipol Oruvan, a remake of the 2008 Bollywood film, A Wednesday!, in which she played a small supporting role alongside legendary actors Kamal Haasan and Mohan Lal.Poonam (Kaur) Sandhu (born March 29, 1991 in Vancouver, BC, Canada) is a women's field hockey player. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Sandhu is the first child of Nick and Jinder Sandhu. As a child, Sandhu grew up speaking a mixture of English and Punjabi at home. Sandhu's interest in field hockey began very young as her father represented Canada on the men's field hockey team in the Olympics. Her parents signed her up for the very first girls team on the India Club at the age of nine.Education
Sandhu attended John Henderson Annex from Kindergarten to grade 5. She then attended John Henderson Elementary from grades six to seven. She is currently attending John Oliver Secondary School having her grade 12 year in September. She is as well currently deciding the University of her choice.
At the age of 14, Sandhu made the Under-14 team. The following year, she made the Under-16 Provincial team and came in second place. Although she was playing in the Under-16 team, she was playing in an Under-19 tournament. In 2007, She played for the Under-16 Can-ams team and for the Under-18 Provincial A-Team. She was recently signed onto the Womens Senior National Team and was carded for the first time.
